A Gathering Place for Change
Mawiomi began with a simple belief: when people gather with respect, purpose, and openness, meaningful change becomes possible. Our name, Mawiomi, meaning gathering, reflects that belief — the power of bringing people together to share knowledge, build trust, and create opportunities that benefit everyone.
Founded in 2026 by Ray Turner, Anne Marie Belliveau, and Eric Christmas, Mawiomi was created to strengthen the relationship between Indigenous communities and industry at a time when Canada is redefining how development happens.
Drawing on lived experience, our founders recognized an opportunity to build a bridge — one that connects Indigenous knowledge, community priorities, and industry innovation to create partnerships rooted in mutual respect and shared success.
